EXPERIENCES

Bohinj itself is a unique experience. But do trust us with your wishes. We will definitely know how to surprise you – after all, we are at the centre of events. Water, air, alpine world – we guarantee countless activities that Bohinj has to offer all year round. Bohinj is also a special cultural landscape that inspires with its alpine architecture, traditions, culinary highlights and unique way of life. The rich 5000-year history can also be explored in three museums in Bohinj.

WARM MONTHS

They may be long, but the summer days will go by too quickly and will be simply too short for everything you can do in Bohinj. Let the alpine world with its promise of freshness and coolness fool you just because temperatures are a bit lower. The sun can be strong, but there are enough shady places and refreshment in the lake is just a stone’s throw away from Hotel Bohinj. The warmer months are perfect for hiking, cycling, canoeing on the lake and kayaking on the Sava Bohinjka River, for paragliding and more.

WINTER JOY

Whether it be white or green winter, you are certain to enjoy it. If it is green, you will fill your days with hiking, wellness and culinary delights, but if there is snow (which by the way, can often be measured in metres), there is an abundance of opportunities for skiing, cross-country skiing, ice skating and ski touring.

BOHINJ HIGHLIGHTS

The main attraction is Lake Bohinj, but you will be accompanied by water everywhere you go. The Mostnica Gorge offers a playful image of water sculptures in stone, and the Savica Waterfall and also the Mostnica Waterfalls at the end of the Voje Valley are a must see. Do not miss the views of the lake from Mt Vogel that can be reached by one of the steepest cable cars of the Alps, or from Vogar or Peč hills. Take a trip on the panoramic boat on the lake. Bohinj also offers three interesting museums and a “village” of hayracks in Studor. Visit one of the pastures and the Pokljuka plateau with its famous peat bogs. Flower lovers can visit botanical gardens spread across the valleys and mountains. It is recommended that you reserve your stay at mountain huts, especially if you want to hike to the Seven Triglav Lakes …
